BYD Ti 7 Arrives in the UAE: 480 hp, 870 km Range, and Off-Road Muscle in a Boxy PHEV SUV

Read Time:2 Minute, 3 Second

Al-Futtaim BYD UAE has added the Ti 7 Plug-in Hybrid SUV to its local lineup, targeting drivers who want genuine all-terrain capability without sacrificing range anxiety-free daily driving.

The numbers lead with intent. The Ti 7 produces 480 hp and 630 Nm of torque through BYD’s DM-p dual-motor AWD platform — a system pairing a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors. The result is a 0–100 km/h sprint in 5.3 seconds, a combined range of 870 km (WLTC), and a 80 km pure-EV range for urban commutes. Those aren’t PHEV-asterisk figures — they’re competitive against dedicated performance SUVs in this class.

Built for the region’s terrain. The Ti 7 ships with Mud, Sand, Snow, and Mountain drive modes alongside advanced Tank Turn, Track, and Crawl functions — credentials that matter in a market where weekend dune runs are routine. Ride quality is handled by a DiSus-C Intelligent Damping System with long-travel double wishbone front and five-link rear suspension, keeping the Ti 7 composed whether you’re on Sheikh Zayed Road or a graded track in the Hajar Mountains.

The exterior makes no apologies for its proportions. BYD calls the aesthetic the “Interstellar Ark” — a deliberately boxy, upright silhouette with H-shaped Ti Energy headlights and matching taillights. It’s a shape that prioritises interior volume over aerodynamic drama, and it shows: the cabin offers over 3.3 cubic metres of passenger space and 1,880 litres of cargo capacity with the rear seats folded.

Inside, the tech stack is thorough. A 15.6-inch central touchscreen, 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and a 26-inch head-up display (on Premium trim) dominate the dashboard. A 14-speaker Dirac audio system, ventilated front and rear seats with massage and memory functions on higher trims, a 4.5-litre refrigerator, and a PM2.5 air purification system complete a cabin that punches above the Ti 7’s price point.

Safety credentials are equally serious. Nine airbags — including a far-side front airbag — a 360° panoramic camera, and the DiPilot 5 ADAS suite cover Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Control, and Tyre Deflation Stability Control. BYD has engineered the Ti 7 to achieve dual five-star safety ratings.

The Ti 7 is available now for test drives at Al-Futtaim BYD showrooms across the UAE. Full specifications and booking at byduae.ae.
