Unleashing Power: Ford Performance’s 2024 Mustang GT Supercharger Kit

Ford Performance has unveiled an exciting new $9995 supercharger kit for the 2024 Mustang GT and Dark Horse models, boosting the 5.0-liter V-8’s power to an impressive 810 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque. This power upgrade requires the Mustang’s optional active exhaust system; however, even without it, the kit still unlocks a formidable 800 ponies. The package features a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, along with a 92 mm throttle body and port fuel injectors from the Mustang GT500. Notably, Ford Performance states that this supercharger kit is compliant with regulations in all U.S. states except California.
Despite Dodge discontinuing its V-8 Hellcats, Ford is boldly stepping into the realm of 800-plus horsepower Mustangs with the introduction of the Ford Performance supercharger kit. This kit makes its debut on the Ford Mustang FP800S concept at this year’s SEMA show.
Powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8, the Mustang’s naturally aspirated engine, originally producing 480 horsepower, is transformed into a powerhouse with at least 800 horses thanks to the Whipple 3.0-liter supercharger. The kit includes necessary upgrades to the air and fuel systems, and Ford confirms compatibility with both automatic and manual transmissions. Additionally, a variant specifically tailored for the Mustang Dark Horse is in development.
Compliant with CARB regulations, the supercharger kit comes with a reassuring three-year, 36,000-mile warranty from Ford Performance. While the Mustang kit is slated for release next year, pricing details are yet to be disclosed.
The Mustang FP800S Concept, akin to its F-150 counterpart, receives the supercharger treatment, along with enhancements such as a Borla Extreme cat-back exhaust featuring four 5.0-inch tips. The concept showcases a lowered ride height, carbon-fiber aero elements, and reinforced half-shafts.
Available separately from the FP800S package, the supercharger kit is expected to be a hit among enthusiasts eagerly anticipating its production. The Mustang concept’s aesthetics further captivate, with striking white wheels and grille nostrils, accentuated by a sporty body-side stripe, hinting at its high-performance capabilities.
