Official images provide a comprehensive preview of the upcoming compact sedan, set to make its global debut at the New York International Auto Show next week. While Kia’s Forte sedan may fade into memory due to past challenges, its successor, the K4, promises a notable departure. Kia offers a glimpse of this innovative model today, teasing enthusiasts ahead of its grand reveal.

Drawing inspiration from the dynamic design elements of the Stinger and the modern sophistication of the EV9 SUV, the K4 boasts a commanding presence, surpassing its predecessor’s allure. Kia’s design philosophy, dubbed ‘Twist Logic,’ is evident in the interplay of light and shadow across the muscular fenders, creating a visually striking effect.

The K4’s rear fender shape, coupled with the robust D-pillar and concealed rear door handle, evoke the essence of a sleek, elongated coupe, accentuated by its plunging nose. This contemporary interpretation of a classic GT car harmonizes seamlessly with the modern LED lighting elements and fully digital interior.

Inside, attention is drawn to the squared steering wheel and expansive digital instrument cluster, reminiscent of Kia’s recent models like the EV6, EV9, and Sorrento. However, the K4 introduces a touch of tradition with its T-bar lever console, departing from the rotary transmission selectors found in its counterparts. Traditional elements, including rows of hard keys and a rotary controller, enhance user experience and functionality.

Kia promises an array of vibrant seating trims for the K4, injecting personality into the cabin. While the Slate Green showcased here adds a refreshing touch, options like Canyon Brown and classic gray and black cater to diverse preferences.

Today’s focus remains on the K4’s captivating design, leaving enthusiasts eagerly anticipating its performance capabilities. Anticipated to start around $22,000, the lineup is expected to include a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and hybrid variants, though an all-electric option is notably absent.
