Building on its strong regional SUV leadership and enriching its robust line-up, Nissan launched the All-New 2023 Nissan X-TRAIL in the Middle East. Designed as a premium urban crossover, the All-New X-TRAIL has been built to defy the ordinary with a striking new look, enhanced capabilities, and a host of innovative technologies.

Furthering a legacy spanning over twenty years, the fourth-generation model offers a premium yet accessible driving experience that expertly caters to evolving customer needs – balancing refined interiors with effortless versatility for daily drives. While ready to be the ideal companion for adventures, it is also the most technologically advanced X-TRAIL to date, equipped with the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies to keep drivers and passengers safe and connected.

Thierry Sabbagh, President, Nissan Saudi Arabia, INFINITI Middle East and Managing Director, Nissan Middle East, said: “The Nissan X-TRAIL is a core part of our robust SUV offering in the region and has catered to the needs of families and adventure-seekers for over twenty years. This premium and versatile crossover is packed with more power, capability, technology, and safety than ever before. We are thrilled to welcome this new model to the Middle East and look forward to our customers discovering all it has to offer.”

Utilizing the latest CMF-C platform, which showcases advanced engineering, innovation and technology, the latest model continues to raise the bar within the mid-size SUV segment. Structurally more rigid and more aerodynamically efficient, the All-New 2023 Nissan X-TRAIL introduces a host of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, including the brand’s ProPILOT Assist to the X-TRAIL line-up for the very first time.

Striking Design & Premium Ambience

Central to the X-TRAIL’s appeal over generations has been its distinctive styling, which projects a reassuring sense of solidity and robustness. The exterior of the all-new model is highlighted by signature Nissan design elements, including a floating roof and V-motion grille, and allows customers to express their personality though an exciting palette of 15 color combinations, including 5 dual-tone colors.

The frontal aspect is framed by striking headlights that appear molded within the bodywork of the front bumper, with combined daytime running lights and indicators nestled along the shut-line of the hood. Carrying the distinctive styling over to the sides, muscular wheel arches give the X-TRAIL presence on the road, while an inset feature brings a sense of fluidity to the sheer surfaces of the doors.

In the back, a taught horizontal line sits just above and below the number plate mount, while split rear lights ensure a wide aperture for the boot. A silver panel curves under the rear bumper, reflecting the X-TRAIL’s adventurous character.

Enhancements in aerodynamics have been brought about through a host of components including, 3D tire deflectors in the lower front fascia, an active grille shutter and special A-pillar shaping. This is accompanied by underbody covers to manage air flow under the vehicle and a unique ‘air curtain’ that precisely directs air flow from the front to the sides of the X-TRAIL.

Inside, new premium materials and smart features come together to create a space that delivers cutting-edge design and practicality in every dimension. This includes NASA-inspired Zero Gravity Seats wrapped in premium quilted semi aniline leather, with the top-of-the-range SL grade welcoming premium Nappa leather with 3D diamond quilting to add a touch of luxury for all aboard. A reassuring and calming environment is created with new white ambient lighting throughout the cabin and an integrated rear door sunshade for complete natural light control, both complementing the ‘floating’ center console design and integrated twin cup holders.

Tech-Advanced Versatility

A true technology powerhouse in the mid SUV segment, the SL grade of X-TRAIL models are fitted with a significant 35.4 inches of cabin screens, including a 12.3 inches TFT Advanced Drive- Assist® Display instrument cluster, a 12.3 inches infotainment display and a 10.8 inches Head-Up Display in wide-screen style. This is complimented by a 10-speaker Bose audio system, Android Auto connectivity, and wireless Apple CarPlay® integration.

The new high-definition, fully digital 12.3-inch TFT multi-information screen offers a choice of configurable layouts to display navigation, entertainment, or vehicle information, all controlled from a new tactile dial switch on the steering wheel. A traditional ‘Kiriko’ cut glass texture is also added to the TFT’s digital background – a nod to Nissan’s Japanese DNA.

The innovative new 10.8-inch Head-Up Display provides the biggest-in-segment image size. Key navigation, driver assistance and road information are projected onto the windscreen within the driver’s line of vision. Connectivity extends to all occupants with the console box now offering front and rear USB charging connections with both USB-A and USB-C ports, in addition to a 15W wireless charging pad.

There is a combined elbow rest for front-seat occupants, which has a “butterfly” opening, to reveal a cavernous storage space for valuables and a smart storage below. The side opening elements allow easy access to the storage area for rear-seat passengers. A panoramic sunroof, with tilt-slide front sunroof section, allows light to flood into the cabin, further enhancing the spacious and relaxing feel of the interior.

Thanks to the packaging efficiency of the CMF-C platform, the new X-TRAIL is also available with a third row of passenger accommodation. Individual seats that effortlessly disappear into the floor are designed to accommodate passengers, placing it among the most generous in its segment. The space has been optimized to ensure the third-row passengers can put their feet under the second row of seats.

The convenience of Nissan’s one-touch seat access system is complemented by a 40/20/40 split, sliding rear seat to provide true interior accommodation and load-carrying flexibility. Nissan’s unique modular luggage board system can be configured in up to 16 different ways to optimize luggage space and secure items vertically or horizontally, with side storage compartments for smaller items.

When the two rear seats are not in use, the resulting boot space puts the X-TRAIL with a total capacity of 585 liters, thanks to a best-in-class floor length and also width between wheelhouses. The improvements in the utility of the luggage area make loading baggage easier and the storing small items more convenient.

Exciting, Confident & Fun To Drive

The X-TRAIL’s new, powerful yet efficient PR25 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, compared to its predecessor, lifts power output by 12hp to 181hp, with torque boosted by 11Nm to 244Nm, for more effortless acceleration and confident overtaking.

Continuing to offer a rewarding driving experience, the all-new X-TRAIL features an updated Macpherson strut suspension set-up in the front and an advanced multi-link set-up for superb balance between ride comfort and dynamic response in the rear. For a more engaging experience, the power-steering set-up has also been upgraded, with a ‘quicker’ rack ratio offering improved response, better feeling around the central part of the steering range and reduced friction.

Calling on adventurers and driving enthusiasts, the all-new X-TRAIL debuts an Intelligent 4×4 system with direct coupling that reacts faster than ever before, allowing for the seamless transfer of power between axles for the ultimate in stability and traction. A twist-dial Drive Mode Selector provides five driving modes to choose from – Off-Road, Snow, Auto, Eco and Sports – with paddle-shift controls on the steering wheel for manual over-ride of the new shift- by-wire transmission interface.

In terms of construction, the body-in-white makes use of more lightweight material, as well as advanced stamping and welding techniques to increase strength and reduce weight. For the very first time, the motion sensing rear tailgate on the X-TRAIL is now made of a composite material. The front and rear doors, front fenders, and hood, are all made of aluminum. This has contributed to improved refinement, ride comfort and driving response.

Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility suite of active safety features is provided with greater capability, making it the safest X-TRAIL yet, with Nissan Safety Shield 360 that includes Predictive Forward Collision warning, Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian detection, Blind Spot Intervention, Rear Cross Traffic alert, Lane Departure Prevention and High Beam Assist.

In addition to Safety Shield 360, the all-new SUV also offers Nissan’s innovative Intelligent Driver Alertness technology and Intelligent Around-view monitor with moving object detection.

The available ProPILOT Assist semi-autonomous driver assistance system with Lane Keep Assist, which provides greater driver support in a wider array of circumstances, has also been introduced to reduce fatigue and stress while driving, while being very intuitive to use.

ProPILOT Assist is able to accelerate and brake the vehicle within a single lane on a highway. The system can accelerate to cruise at a set speed and brake to 0km/h in heavy stop-start traffic. The system is able to resume automatically if the vehicle has been stationary for less than three seconds and the traffic in front of the car moves away.

Echoing Nissan’s latest design language, the all-new 2023 Nissan X-TRAIL is the fourth SUV model, after the Patrol, Pathfinder, and KICKS to feature the brand’s latest insignia. The All-New 2023 Nissan X-TRAIL is available at Nissan’s partner network across the Middle East.
