Mercedes-AMG introduces two new plug-in hybrid models, the E53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ in saloon and estate variants, embodying the brand’s commitment to performance and sports cars. These vehicles offer a blend of remarkable performance, driving dynamics, and an impressive electric range.

Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, emphasizes the continuation of the E-Class legacy with the new E53 HYBRID, delivering typical AMG driving pleasure characterized by responsiveness, dynamic driving dynamics, and a sporty design. With its plug-in hybrid technology, the E53 HYBRID combines potent performance with efficiency, enabling many daily trips to be completed purely on electric power. Equipped with advanced features like fully variable all-wheel drive and active rear-axle steering, the vehicle meets the demands of discerning customers.

Featuring a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine and an E-synchronous machine, the E53 HYBRID generates a maximum system output of 430 kW (585 HP) and a maximum system torque of 750 Nm, offering dynamic acceleration and a top speed electronically limited to 280 km/h. Additionally, it can achieve speeds of up to 140 km/h on electric power alone.

The integration of a 120-kW electric motor into the transmission facilitates efficient power delivery, while the high-voltage battery with a gross capacity of 28.6 kWh provides an electric range of over 100 kilometers. Charging options include an 11 kW onboard charger for AC charging and a 60 kW DC fast charger, enabling quick charging times.

To accommodate the dynamic performance, the body shell undergoes reinforcement with various stiffening measures, enhancing stability and driving precision. The exterior design features distinctive AMG elements, while the interior boasts premium materials and advanced technology, including the MBUX Superscreen with passenger monitor.

The standard all-wheel drive system ensures optimal traction, while the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension offers a balance between comfort and sportiness. Other features include the AMG high-performance sports brake system and active rear-axle steering for enhanced agility and stability.

Customers can opt for the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package for additional performance enhancements, while the “Edition 1” variant offers exclusive exterior and interior features, including special paint colors, carbon elements, and unique upholstery. Each vehicle comes with an AMG Indoor Car Cover for added protection.
